• Fort Dorchester Pulls Away From Goose Creek (hssr.com) — Goose Creek High's Gators fell 33-20 to Fort Dorchester on Sept. 4, despite a strong running game from quarterback Tyler Holmes and back Sincere Lewis. The Gators tied the game late before a missed field goal and two big Fort Dorchester touchdowns sealed the loss. Goose Creek now sits at 1-2 and heads to Stratford next week.
   

• Reader photo pick of the week: Mirrors (postandcourier.com) — Goose Creek resident Ronald Allan Charles earned this week's reader photo honor with a creative mirror-shot of a cathedral in Mexico. The contest now turns to a "Sunrise" theme, inviting locals to capture daybreak and submit high-resolution images with their name, town, and photo details by noon Tuesday for a chance to be featured online and in print.
   

• Hardee's Closes 77 Locations in 8 States (But It's Not All Bad News) (financebuzz.com) — Goose Creek was one of eight South Carolina communities that lost a Hardee's when franchisee ARC Burger abruptly closed 77 locations across several states late last year. Most South Carolina stores, including several nearby, have since reopened under corporate ownership, but the Goose Creek closure shows how quickly a franchise dispute can erase a familiar, budget-friendly dining option and reshape local choices for breakfast and burgers.
