Berkeley County Community and Students make Christmas brighter for Foster Kids

News Release, Berkeley County Guardian ad Litem Foundation:

One hundred and forty six children from Berkeley County had a brighter Christmas because of citizens of Berkeley County.  These children’s lives have been impacted by involvement in Family Court issues primarily due to abuse and/or neglect.  Most of them are in Foster Care or a relative placement.  In order to bring a little normalcy to their holiday season the Berkeley County Guardian ad Litem Program sponsors an annual Christmas Party.  Members of the community provide personalized gifts for each child.  Fun, food and pictures with Santa were the highlights of the day.  Students from the Stratford High School Student Association raised money all year long with events and jewelry sales in order to sponsor nine children.  In addition this year the Stratford Culinary Arts Program catered the event.  The event is hosted annually by Pinopolis United Methodist Church.
