Greater Charleston City Council of Beta Sigma Phi installs officers

Susan Dawson, Preceptor Upsilon Chapter was elected and installed as president of the Greater Charleston City Council of Beta Sigma Phi during the group's April meeting.

Other officers installed were:  Debra Baldwin, first vice president, Laureate Zeta chapter, Verna Erdmann, second vice president, Xi Alpha Omega chapter; Dorothy Tackett, recording secretary, Xi Alpha Omega chapter; Nelda Daniels, corresponding secretary, Laureate Alpha Alpha chapter and Frankie Marks, treasurer, Laureate Zeta chapter.

Beta Sigma Phi, is an International social sorority founded in 1931.  There are seven very active chapters in the tri-county area.  Members are women of all ages, from all walks of life.  Beta Sigma Phi has a membership of more than 165,000 women in over 20 countries throughout the world.

We have chapters that meet during the day, some at night, some twice a month and others once a month.  Our members are women who enjoy life, learning and friendship.

Chapters donate between 200 and 300,000 hours of time each year to charitable organizations and raise more than $2 million yearly.
