Pep Supper 2012 Food Drive Contest: How Are We Doing?

When those involved in Greek Life at the College of Charleston in beautiful and historic Charleston, South Carolina decided they wanted to help the hungry again this fall season in recognition of The Lowcountry Food Bank, they decided to set up and run a college-wide food drive contest on YouGiveGoods.com between fraternities and sororities. This anticipated event is known as “Pep Supper.” The 20 Greek Organizations in Charleston competing in Pep Supper this year include ten fraternities, nine sororities and the National Pan-Hellenic Council. The Greeks said, “May the best chapter win!” and got to competing in support of The Lowcountry Food Bank. The contest began on October 9 and will run until November 4.

Each of the chapters began the competition with ambitious goals in hopes of shattering last year’s record-breaking collection of 24,000 pounds, and though the clock continues to count down, the numbers are growing everyday!

Today marks the two week point of the contest; only about two more weeks left! To date, The Annual Pep Supper Food Drive 2012 Contest has raised $10,490 worth of food and 5,741 pounds (almost 3 tons!) Kappa Alpha Theta is off to a great start and is currently in First Place with 2,814 pounds of food raised. Alpha Delta Pi is currently in Second Place with 885 pounds of goods raised. The bronze currently goes to Delta Gamma, just on Alpha Delta Pi’s heels, with 772 pounds. Can these three sororities stay in the lead? Stay up to date by regularly checking out the Contest Leaderboard, which keeps track of the Contest in real time, 24/7.
