American Red Cross volunteers were called to assist a Moncks Corner family of four and a Cross family of four, both of whose homes were destroyed by morning fires.
The Red Cross provided the Moncks Corner family of four with temporary housing, funds to help replace the food and clothing that was lost in the fire, comfort kits containing personal hygiene items, t-shirts, and referrals to partner agencies to assist with the family’s long-term recovery. The Red Cross provided the Cross family of four, including 2 children, funds to help replace the food and clothing lost in the fire, t-shirts, comfort kits, referrals to our partner agencies and toys for the children.

The Red Cross has assisted 238 individuals affected by disasters, including home fires, in its seven-county region of Beaufort, Berkeley, Charleston, Colleton, Dorchester, Hampton and Jasper counties, since the beginning of the fiscal year on July 1, 2012. Members of our community can support local victims of disasters similar to this and enable the Red Cross to assist families like this who are impacted by residential fires by contacting the American Red Cross at 843-764-2323 ext. 368 or by going to LowcountryRedCross.org.
