Scott to Announce High School CAPS Award Winners in Charleston Monday

Congressman Tim Scott, SC-01, will be presenting tri-county high school students with his Courage in Achieving Personal Success Award (CAPS) in Charleston Monday night. The CAPS Award honors First District high school students who have persevered through personal hardships to show significant improvement in their high school career.

The ceremony will take place at 6:30 p.m. at Charleston Southern University in the Charleston Room inside the Strom Thurmond Building.

"When many others may give up, these are the students who overcome great odds in order to succeed and earn their cap and gown," Scott added. "Often making tough choices and sacrifices to exceed expectations, their perseverance and integrity serve as an inspiration to their families, their schools, and their communities." 

The CAPS Award was created by and is presented by Congressman Tim Scott to recognize graduating seniors from the First Congressional District who have demonstrated exemplary initiative, perseverance, and other sustaining qualities of personal character in their individual journey to achieve personal academic goals and graduate high school.
