North Charleston, S.C./ January 23, 2012 – According to the American Heart Association, coronary heart disease and stroke are the first and third leading causes of death in the United States. Throughout February, Trident Health will be providing their annual “Heart Health Events”, including free heart screenings and the latest information to help individuals lead a healthier lifestyle.All events will be held at Trident Medical Center. To make a reservation for any of these free Heart Month events, please call 843-797-FIND (3463).The “Heart Health Event” schedule is as follows:
- “Girls Night Out!” Free Heart Health Screenings, Catered Dinner and Live Music. February 2, 4:30-7:00 p.m.; “Women and Heart Health, Love Your Heart” Speakers: Dr. Christine Case, Dr. Scott Woodfield. 6-7 p.m.
- “How Strong is Your Heart?” What symptoms should you be looking for? What tests should you ask your doctor for? A light lunch included; February 9, noon – 1p.m.
- “Time for a Valve Tune Up?” Learn about the symptoms and treatment for leaking valves. A light lunch will be served. February 16, noon -1p.m.
- “Having a Heart Attack? Act Fast!” Learn why calling 9-1-1 is so important and what steps are critical during these first few seconds of your heart event. A light dinner will be served. February 23, 6-8p.m.
