Marington Elementary School was chocked full of volunteers from the local military community, who came to participate in the official Day of Caring on Friday, September 6.
The volunteers labored diligently to enhance the area surrounding the Marrington Cub Cottages, which currently house the Child Development Education Pilot Program (CDEPP) for 4 year old students. Some of the projects they accomplished were building a chalkboard wall to foster artistic creativity; fashioning concrete “paver” projects so students could play Tic tac toe and Hopscotch; and building wooden, educational games.

Marrington Day of Caring was in conjunction with Trident United Way’s Day of Caring, a nation-wide effort where thousands of volunteers throughout the country volunteer their time and talents by showing they care through a day of service.
This group of dedicated workers served as an excellent example of good citizenship and community service for the students at Marrington.
