Arrest Made in Summerville Man's Death

Officials say man was arrested in Orangeburg early Saturday.

The suspect wanted in the death of a Summerville man was arrested early Saturday, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.

Ishmel Taquan Rivers, 19, has been charged with murder. He was taken into custody at 917 Presidential Drive in Orangeburg.

Rivers is accused of killing Dijuan Jacques Smith during an argument outside of a club at 123 Yellowstone Lane early Friday evening.

Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury said he had not yet determined what killed Smith, 30. Salisbury noted there was a small puncture wound in Smith's neck that could have been due to a knife or bullet.

Friday night, Berkeley County investigators asked for the public's help in finding Rivers whereabouts, noting he was a suspect in the case.
