Assault Charge After Officer Allegedly Kneed in Stomach

Arrest stemmed from service station fight.

Goose Creek Police arrested a Moncks Corner man after a fight at a service station led to charges of assaulting a police officer.

Along with that charge, Randolph Bryan, 53, is also being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and trespassing after notice. 

Officers arrived at the Circle K on Stephanie Drive at 9:40 p.m. Friday in reference to a fight.

A man who declined to press charges claimed he was assaulted by Bryan as he exited the store. When a witness tried to break up the fight, Bryan allegedly pulled a weapon of some kind. The man declined to press charges.

But when questioned, Bryan alleged dropped a metal pipe with a burnt end that police believe was used for drugs. And he had already been served with a no trespassing notice at the Circle K.

As officers were restraining Bryan during his arrest, he allegedly kneed an officer in the stomach, adding the additional charge for assaulting an officer.
