Basketball Update: Goose Creek Girls in Quarterfinals

Goose Creek's girls basketball team will face Ridge View on Monday in the quarterfinals of the state championship tournament.

The Lady Gators defeated Lexington on Friday night, 32-25. Monday will be the last local game. If Goose Creek wins, they'll face Orangeburg-Wilk or Colleton County in the semi-finals Feb. 24 at the Florence Civic Center.

Goose Creek's state tournament rival, Spring Valley, is scheduled to play its second-round game Saturday night against Dorman. A PDF of the tournament bracket is underneath the basketball image to the right.

In other basketball action, the Goose Creek boys lost Wednesday against South Florence, 61-54.

The Lady Hawks of Hanahan lost Friday night against Lake City, 69-41, in the second round of the AA tournament.

Berkeley County's Bishop England girls are still in the AA tournament. And Timberland High's boys team will be playing in the AA second round tonight.
