God wants you to be “at peace” so that your spirit is free of anxiety.  That way you have left over space in your mind and heart to fill up with the desire to do “good” for others.  Just like the Grinch, whose heart was “two sizes to small,” when your heart is free of anxiety it can more readily fill up with Love.  God’s got great strategies for keeping you and the people that He has placed in your word at peace. To “get” them, you need look no further than Jesus, who is the ultimate role model.  Jesus was a healer who could fix whatever was “ailing” someone as long as they had the faith and confidence that He could and He would heal them.  And so it is with you.  Every day you can be a healer.  You don’t have to be a “big time healer” who specializes in deadly diseases and catastrophic events.  That might not be your particular “gift.”  But in the every day moments of life, you continually have the opportunity to offer wisdom, comfort, encouragement, direction, and Love.  That’s what pleases God. That’s your mission and why He put you here.

The flip side of the “healing coin” is that God loves you so much and knows that when you are troubled you aren’t going to feel like being a healer.  And that is where your faith comes in.  Jesus says, “If you have faith as a mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it shall move; and nothing shall be impossible to you.” (Matthew 17: 20)  Your current problem is your mountain and God is still in the miracle business. And guess what? He hasn’t moved. God’s always there; you just have to ask Him to handle your particular issue.  That’s how you get healed.  Ask and believe, and then tell people that God has it covered.  You might not see the exact answer to your question at this moment, but that is what faith is: the belief, confidence, and assurance in what hasn’t presented itself yet. When you tell people that you have turned your issue over to God and you know He is handling it in the best possible way, you are demonstrating your faith.  You are glorifying God.  It’s like telling people that if your car breaks down on the side of the road; all you have to do is call your husband and he will happily drop everything to come to your rescue.  That readiness to help makes you feel safe and your husband look good and speaks volumes about your relationship. That’s the way God loves you and is there for you if you just ask.    He is your Ultimate Fixer, Director, and Helper.   He can fix anything: your heart, your health, your finances and also that of your loved ones. Be a healer.  Ask for a healing.  Then tell everyone you know about God’s goodness.  That will make them want to get some of “that.”  That’s the plan, that’s the way.
