1 Timothy 4:11-16
Prescribe and teach these things. In speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe. Do not neglect the spiritual gift within you. Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them, so that your progress may be evident to all. Pay close attention to yourself and to your teaching; persevere in these things; for as you do this you will insure salvation both for yourself and for those who hear you.

Psalm 27:11, 14
Teach me Thy way, O LORD, And lead me in a level path. Wait for the LORD; Be strong, and let your heart take courage.
2 Timothy 1: 6,7
Kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you, for God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.
Sometimes the demands of life can seem overwhelming. There are so many things that you are supposed to do. Yet, what is really important? Every day, God wants you to “kindle afresh” His Spirit that is inside of you. He says, “Take pains with these things; be absorbed in them.” So what does all this specifically mean for you? It means within all the moments of your day strive to be an example of Love and faith. Really think about that. When someone comes on your path or some new challenge presents itself, think: “Why is this happening? Why is this person here? What would God have me to say to them?” God wants you to “Prescribe and teach these things.” It is your job to tell others or at the very least show others by your example, not to get spun up and anxious over the every day things of life. Let them know when something really “tricky” is happening to you, that you in fact are not worried, because you have put it in God’s hands and you know whatever happens is for the best. That is showing people your faith. That is showing people that you are counting on God, rather than dissolving into a pool of butter when things get tough. Tell others about your faith in God. Let them know that if they turn their deepest concern over to Him, God will point them in the right direction and fill them with hope. And the great thing is as you explain or prescribe the concept of “faith” and turning over problems to God, it will help to keep your anxiety down. The more you talk about faith and dwell on God’s power, the calmer you will feel. The best prescription for a contented and peaceful spirit is simple and doesn’t cost a thing: it is found in listening to what God has to say, reading and dwelling on His words, and then sharing them with others.
