Republican Allen Weiss, who is set to challenge Democratic Rep. Joe Jefferson for the S.C. House District 102 seat, also will appear on the ballot.
But the three candidates for S.C. House District 15, representing portions of Goose Creek, Hanahan and North Charleston, are out of the race. Republicans Charles Davis and Samuel Rivers and Democrat Marian Redish did not file the paperwork correctly, leaving the ballot empty — for now.
There is still time for an independent petition candidate to file for the seat. That deadline isn't until July.
Also off the ballot, according to the list provided by Democratic Party officials, is Barbara McGowin, who had expected to challenge S.C. Sen. Paul Campbell in District 44. She could also file a petition campaign to get on the ballot.
