Blotter: Appliances Meet Pavement in Hit and Run
The following information was supplied by the City of Goose Creek Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Two weeks worth of blotter:
A hit and run on St. James Avenue on Aug. 6 threw a washer, dryer, and a Whirlpool refrigerator off the back of a trailer and into the middle of the road. The driver pulling the large appliances was rear-ended by a man who fled the scene. The suspect was chased down and charged with driving under the influence.
A Goose Creek man called police on Aug. 14 and asked if they could get his mother to stop calling him. Before any of you get any ideas, this is a case of alleged harassment, not the kind of nagging we all get from our mothers.

A scary story from the Crowfield hiker/biker trail. On Aug. 7, a jogger reported spotting a fishing line running across the trail at neck level. When she ducked to miss it, she was tripped by a separate fishing line at her ankles. Officers removed the lines to avoid further injury.
After hearing a noise late on Aug. 13, a Boulder Bluff women went outside and found pieces of her mailbox strewn across her front yard. It's not a complete mystery though — the unknown driver left a piece of the bumper behind.

Someone stole several pieces of jewelry from a Hunter Woods woman between the first week of May and the first week of July. She was also missing an iPod and a camera. The woman didn't report everything missing until Aug. 9, because she routinely moves the jewelry between different hiding spots. She didn't think anything of it at first when the items weren't where she remembered putting them.
