Blotter: Alleged Pot Purchase Turns to Assault
Teens say they were jumped, one victim says later they were trying to buy weed.

The following information was supplied by the City of Goose Creek Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
The signs of an alleged assault were evident — one victim had cuts on his nose and lips, along with a difficulty hearing in his right ear from being kicked. But it took some pressing from police to get the details in a recent Lakeview Terrace incident.
Two teens, one from Ladson and the other from Goose Creek, told police they were at the dock when they struck up a conversation with a man sitting at a picnic table.Â

While talking, the teens said two other men allegedly came from behind nearby bushes holding handguns and the three unknown men instructed the youths to empty their pockets.
But the two victims said the men just threw their phones in the lake and fled. After investigating the area, officers believed the young men were being deceptive.

During a second interview, one of the victims told police that they had planned to buy marijuana. He claimed the other victim allegedly tried to escape, when he was caught and assaulted. The victim said the men took the $20 they'd planned to spend.Â
