Blotter: Mom Finds Messages Between Daughter and Sex Offender
Police find man was using alias when chatting with local teen.

It's the kind of cautionary tale you'd find in a modern day After-School Special.
A Goose Creek 14-year-old was on Facebook May 13 when a 32-year-old Missouri man messaged her, saying that he needed someone to talk to.Â
Two days later, her mother found messages between the two over the two days and called police, alarmed at the suspect's age and what she had read.

The mother showed police messages from the man to her daughter, including, "Wish I was dating you. What kid of guys do you date older or younger, and would you date me?"
They both sent messages to each other about visiting if they lived closer. The mother sent a message telling the man to end the contact with her daughter.

When police contacted the man to stress that he end the communication with the teenager, he told them that he was on the sex offender registry, but professed his innocence.
Investigators would later learn that the name he had been using with the girl was an alias. Goose Creek Police contacted law enforcement in the man's home town in Missouri to alert them to the situation.
