Blotter: Noise, Minors at 106 Bar And More

The following information was supplied by the City of Goose Creek Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Bar Noise and Minors Don’t Mix

Officers were called to Red Bank Road late Aug. 29 due to disruptive noise. They found it was coming from the 106 Bar at 106 Red Bank Road.

Walking in, the first thing they noticed was two women drinking at the bar who were under 21. The bartender claimed the drinks were filled with cranberry juice and no alcohol, but both women said they were served liquor. Because the women cooperated, they weren’t charged with underage drinking. The bartender was cited for providing alcohol to minors.

Asked about the noise, the bartender pointed to the D.J., who refused to turn down the music and suggested the manager shut the doors to the building instead. The D.J. was cited for excessive noise.

Neighbors Exchange Attack Claims

A dispute between neighbors at a Goose Creek apartment complex has been keeping city police officers busy. One of the two men contacted police Aug. 20 and said that he had been attacked by a neighbor in the parking lot.

He said the other man charged at him and attempted to throw a punch before the victim fled and contacted police. He said it was likely because of an argument at the clubhouse pool roughly a month earlier. Police were called back out to the complex Aug. 23 after the victim’s car was vandalized, with scratches found across the hood.

The suspect in both incidents told police he wasn’t responsible for the damage and that he was the one being harassed. He contacted police later that day to give his side of the initial exchange — claiming that he’d nearly been hit by the other man’s car in the parking lot. When the two exchanged words, he says the other man came at him with a knife.

When questioned again, the man who filed the first two reports said he did chase after his neighbor following the argument, but he says he was carrying a can of mace instead of a knife.

BB in the Foot

A staff member at Summerville Medical Center contacted police Aug. 25 regarding a patient who was shot in the foot with a BB gun. X-rays showed a BB about two centimeters under the skin on his foot. The initial report doesn’t clearly explain how the man was shot.
