Body Found in Moncks Corner Plane Wreckage

Man had been missing for two weeks.

The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the wreckage of a Cessna 150 found at about noon Thursday near the Berkeley County Airport in Moncks Corner.

The Berkeley County Coroner identified the victim as the plane's owner, 64-year-old Kenneth W. Tollett of Moncks Corner.

According to the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office, Tollett had taken off on Oct. 13 from the Moncks Corner airport and hadn't been seen since. He was reported missing on Monday and law enforcement found the plane in an aerial serach Thursday.

The wreckage was spotted in a thickly wooded area just outside an airport perimeter fence, according to the Sheriff's Office. The pilot’s identity will be released by the Berkeley County coroner.

A Facebook page had been created to support the search for Tollett with just over 100 followers. Late Thursday afternoon, the title of the page was changed to "Rest with the Angels Kenneth Tollett."
