Boeing Site Adds Medical Clinic

Plane manufacturer partners with Roper St. Francis for healthcare staff.

Boeing's massive Dreamliner manufacturing facility includes a clinic to address medical issues with a new long-term contract signed with Roper St. Francis Healthcare.

The local hospital system started providing assistance at the site late last year and announced Tuesday that it had signed an agreement to continue service through 2016.

Roper President and CEO David Dunlap said the hospital system is honored to provide car to "our new neighbors."

"Boeing South Carolina with its large workforce of highly skilled employees contributes greatly to the economic welfare of the Lowcountry and to the state of South Carolina," said David Dunlap, Roper's president and CEO.

On-site medical staff at the 2,300-square-foot clinic include a physician, nurse practitioner, nurses, and medical assistant support.

Beoing's 240-acre facility near the Charleston International Airport is expected to employee 3,600 employees in the assembly and delivery of the company's new 787 Dreamliner.
