Each month Marrington Elementary School hosts a monthly mini career fair that emphasizes careers in science, technology, engineering and math, otherwise known as “STEM.” The school counselor, Ann Schuler, invites speakers from businesses throughout the Low Country to come and speak to the 5th grade students. For the first Mini Career Fair of the 2013-2014 school year, Marrington students had the honor of hearing representatives from BOEING . Bryan Cook who is a Procurement Agent and John McCormick who oversees Materials Management spoke to students about the process of creating, manufacturing, and flying the planes that BOEING is famous for. Both speakers emphasized the importance of doing well today in science and math so that later on students would have the tools to be successful and ultimately work for BOEING. Marrington was truly honored to have BOEING come and a very happy and informative time was had by all.
