God’s got such a great strategy for facing things that trouble you: fight the good fight, stay the course and keep the faith. But what do those words mean and how can you apply them to your life so that you are less anxious? First, you have to remember that you can only do what you can do. Ultimately, God controls the outcome. You can’t control whether a tree will fall on your car in a storm; if someone in your world doesn’t act the way you wish they would, or if you have been given a task that you worry is way to big for you. What you can do, no matter what troubled waters are on your horizon is to fight the good fight, stay the course and keep the faith. Fighting the good fight and staying the course is just another way of saying, “Do your best. Don’t give up. Let your light shine in all that you do.” That way when people see your effort, God is glorified. In the same way that a parent’s heart is warmed when they see their child being kind and helpful to another less fortunate child, so God smiles when you persevere and continue to do your best and shine your light of hope, wisdom and encouragement for others, even when your own heart is troubled. Fight the good fight. Stay the course and continually remind yourself to keep the faith. Believe in the unseen, which is God’s power to turn the tides of any circumstance and work a miracle in your life. You can never truly control the outcome of any event. But if you “don’t grow weary of doing good, in due season, you will reap a reward.” That reward is the abiding knowledge that God loves every hair on your head. His eye may be on the sparrow, but His hand is most certainly on you. Fight the good fight. Stay the course. Keep the faith, and always let your light shine. That’s your job. God will take care of the rest.
