Patch Editors Helping Out at Meals on Wheels

Community service is an important part of what Patch does. We provide coverage to local organizations and offer a special space on the site for volunteer opportunities.

But we also volunteer our time. Through Patch’s Give 5 program, we'll be spending five days each year volunteering for local nonprofits.

On Thursday, I joined my fellow local editors from Mount Pleasant, Summerville and West Ashley to volunteer at the East Cooper Meals on Wheels. We helped package hundreds of hot meals while learning about the group’s mission and meeting some other terrific volunteers who take time out of their schedule on a weekly basis to help this very worthy cause.

Let us know about the volunteer opportunities in Goose Creek or Hanahan. I can’t wait to bring my coworkers up to Berkeley County for a good cause.
