You and eleven other patients and/or caregivers come together in Online Training Groups, either via phone or video conference (your choice) and are guided through a 10-session skills training course by a specially trained Pillar Guide – all from the comfort of home.
This is NOT a support group. Each session is an hour and fifteen minutes and is a highly structured, solution-focused, psycho-educational experience that teaches concrete tools for living fully in the presence of illness and fostering a sense of inner peace in the midst of a crisis.

HOW DO YOU KNOW IT WORKS? Thousands of patients reported that it works, including those in a 2008 study at the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center. The study validated that patients who were taught the tools of The Seven Pillars of Personal Recovery curriculum, perceived their quality-of-life as improved across a range of symptoms, including distress, despair, helplessness, hopelessness and fatigue – in spite of the fact that their disease was progressing. Pillars4Life takes the same standardized curriculum and teaches it in Online Training Groups giving patients and their family caregivers the added benefit of broadening their network of support while learning the transformational tools of the program.
WHAT DO YOU NEED?
You have the option of joining the skills-training course one of two ways:
TELECONFERENCE: If you choose to join by phone, you will need a telephone (landline or cell phone with sufficient minutes).
