Simply put, businesses create revenue. Revenues pay for fire stations, police officers, etc. It’s no secret that Goose Creek is lacking restaurants and retail shopping.
Geographically, Goose Creek is perfectly located to intercept shoppers and diners traveling Hwy 52 on their way (through Goose Creek) to the Northwoods/Rivers Ave. In my opinion there are several opportunities for improvement. First we need to improve the Image and identity of Goose Creek. Second is we need to advertise what Goose Creek already has to offer in an effort to attract consumers. If consumers increase to existing businesses, there will be greater incentive for new businesses to open up shop. Exploration of city sponsored incentives is also a possibility assuming the costs could be recovered with increased taxes and business license fees.
