Stay On The Level Ground Of Peace

No matter how tricky things may look at any given moment, God's always got a plan to keep you from sinking and show you the way you should go to keep your spirit on "level ground."

1 Peter 4:2,7-11
Live the rest of the time for the will of God.  The end of all things is at hand; therefore, be of sound judgment and sober [spirit] for the purpose of prayer.  Above all, keep fervent in your love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins.  Be hospitable to one another without complaint.  As each one has received a [special] gift, employ it in serving one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.  Whoever speaks, [let him speak], as it were, the utterances of God; whoever serves, [let him do] [so as by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified.

Psalm 143:7-10
Answer me quickly, O LORD, my spirit fails; Do not hide Thy face from me, Lest I become like those who go down to the pit.  Let me hear Thy lovingkindness in the morning; For I trust in Thee; Teach me the way in which I should walk; For to Thee I lift up my soul. Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies; I take refuge in Thee. Teach me to do Thy will, For Thou art my God; Let Thy good Spirit lead me on level ground.

No matter how tricky things may look at any given moment, God’s always got a plan.  You might not know what’s going to happen, or why things are going the way that they are, but the trick is to just ask God to show you “the way that you should go and then walk in it.”   But what does all that really mean?  First, you just straight up ask God to make all the things happen the way they are “supposed to.”  Then you walk.   But you “walk” in a special way that is designed to keep your mind focused on what you can do as you move along an uncertain path.  First, use your gifts to serve others. If God’s given you any ability, even if you don’t value it, God does and somebody needs what only you can say, or do in their life. Secondly, be loving to the people that God has placed in your world, because it’s the right thing to do and God says that “love covers a multitude of sins.” Remember, you’ve had times when you haven’t been so very great, but when you try to be a peace maker and act in a loving way, even when you don’t feel like it, you are scoring big points with God.  And finally, always be on the lookout for your signs and signals.  Ask God to show you His will for your life, and He will surely do it, because He doesn’t want to keep what He wants for you a secret. Keep in your heart and mind the words of the Psalm 142:3 “When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, Thou didst know my path.”  God knows where you need to go. Right where you are today is right where you need to be todayYour job is just to continue to use your gifts, love others and keep looking in His direction. Everything else will reveal itself in God’s perfect time. This is the way to stay on the level ground of peace when walking on an uncertain path.
