Break-in at New Home Causes $100,000 in Damage
Interior severely damaged after vandal leaves water running.

An unknown burglar broke into a recently completed Sophia Landing home last weekend, causing $100,000 in water damage.
An employee with Dan Ryan Builders contacted police Sunday afternoon when the damage was found, according to the initial police report.
The worker said the property was locked the previous day. She returned Sunday and found the sliding glass door cracked and then found the damage inside.

A faucet from the laundry room had been left turned on, flooding the home. The water damaged caused a hole in the drywall near the light switch in the laundry room.

Other damage included bubbling paint, wet and swelling drywall and water damage to the first floor ceiling as water ran down the walls.
There was no evidence of forced entry.
