Break-In At Ye Ole Fashioned

Incident similar to other burglars in recent months.

Unknown burglars broke into the Ye Ole Fashioned Ice Cream & Sandwich Cafe last week, one of two incidents early last Wednesday along St. James Avenue.

Officers responded at 3:25 a.m. on June 13 to a call from the security company that the alarm had gone off. They arrived to find the front door had been busted out.

Video surveillance showed two men wearing latex gloves and white ski masks using what appeared to be a crowbar to force their way into the front door.

A cabinet in the office had been forcibly opened and several papers were strewn about, according to police. A cash register had also been forced open. The business owner told police that nothing appeared to be missing.

Further up St. James Avenue, the Zaxby's restaurant was also burglarized. In that case, the subjects appear to have used some sort of key to gain access to the building.

The circumstances in the Ye Old Fashioned case are similar to on St. James Avenue. On March 21, an unknown suspect appeared to have used a rock to bust out the front door. They then tore through the office and fled out the back door.
