Brickhope Residents Organize on Speed Issue

Henry Brown Jr. Boulevard is undergoing the first phase of a road widening and extension. The first leg will focus on improvements from Red Bank Road to Liberty Hall Road. But the rest of the project will bring the road from Liberty Hall around to Montague Plantation, connecting with U.S. 52.

The regional goal for Henry Brown Boulevard is to give commuter and truck traffic an alternative to U.S. 52. But Birckhope Plantation homeowners are worried about the increased traffic and the safety for residents and pedestrians, particularly if the speed limit climbs to highway levels. 

Brickhope residents have drafted a petition calling for a safer speed and are now going to several different neighborhoods along Montague Plantation Road and educating residents about the Henry Brown Boulevard extension plans.
