Budget Workshops, Nucor Deal On This Week's Agendas

Goose Creek City Council will hold two budget work shops this week in council chambers, 519 N. Goose Creek Blvd.

At 6 p.m. Tuesday, the council will receive a 2011 audit presentation, with a review of the proposed 2013 budget from City Administrator Dennis Harmon.

At 6 p.m. Thursday, the council will hold a second workshop to review the proposed budget. Both meetings will include a chance for audience comments.

Berkeley County Council will meet following committee meetings and public hearings at 6 p.m. in the assembly room at 1003 Highway 52, Moncks Corner. See the agenda.

The council will hold a public hearing on several matters, including a proposed ordinance regarding liquor stores at the Cane Bay Plantation's commercial development. See the agenda.

The Finance Committee will consider a fee agreement with Nucor Steel regarding expansion at the company's Berkeley County facility. See the agenda.

The Committee on Land Use will consider a resolution on abandoning a portion of the right of way along Rose Drive as part of a road realignment. See the agenda.

The Berkeley County School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the district office board room, 231 E. Main Street, Moncks Corner. No agenda available.

The Berkeley County Planning Commission will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the assembly room at 1003 Highway 52, Moncks Corner. See the agenda.
