Camelot Cars Targeted in String of Break-Ins

Unknown thieves went on crime spree.

More than a dozen cars were burglarized last week in the Camelot neighborhood.

Officers arrived at 7:11 a.m. June 13, responding to a call of a Ricky Court resident who found his visor down and his glove box open. A GPS unit was left untouched, but a handful of loose change was missing.

He spoke with his neighbors and learned he wasn't alone. Officers would go on to spend the morning visiting neighbors and checking unattended vehicles for signs of tampering. In all, 13 homeowners had cars rifled through.

The time frame of the incidents appears to have been between 12:30 and 5:30 a.m.

Other thefts included three sets of keys to rental properties from one vehicle and $25 cash from another. Two victims reported purses stolen. A DVD player taken from one car was later found in a pile of brush nearby.
