Celebration of LIfe Saturday for Kirsten Mimms

Family and friends will gather Saturday to celebrate and remember the life of Stratford High senior Kirsten Mimms, who passed away earlier this week.

The service will begin at 2:30 p.m. at Oakley Road Church of God, 109 Oakley Road in Moncks Corner.

Roxie Shore will facilitate the service. The family will receive friends after the service at the church.

Those who remember Kirsten and strangers who want to share their condolences are posting on a Facebook. 

Kim Skaggs noted that she lost her own daughter, Austin, who was also a Stratford High student.

"There was nothing better for our family then to have her friends to rally around us and to share their memories and stories of my daughter," she wrote.

Condolonces are also posted at McAlister-Smith's website. The funeral home is handling arrangements for the family.

"Kirsten … It's so hard to believe that this is real, but I know it will all be OK," wrote Shannon Polston. "God has a different plan than we all expected, but we just have to trust Him. I miss you so much and I know you're smiling down on us right now, and that you will continue to every day. I love you and I'm praying for your family. Make those other angels laugh like you made all of us laugh."
