Chance for Severe Storms Tuesday Afternoon

That National Weather Service is predicting scattered thunderstorms will roll into the Lowcountry on Tuesday afternoon, along with a chance of severe weather.

"A few thunderstorms could become severe — mainly from 2-11 p.m. — and will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts in excess of 60 mph and large hail 1 inch or greater," according to a NWS Hazardous Weather Outlook.

The NWS encourages residents to monitor local media for updates.

According to the forecast, a chance of showers is expected to persist through Thursday.
