Charleston Deputies Injured in Goose Creek Wreck

Chase began in North Charleston, ended on Red Bank Road.

Charleston County deputies were inured Wednesday night when a vehicle they had pursued into the Goose Creek area turned and struck their patrol car.

The chase began after 6 p.m. when deputies near Leeds Avenue spotted a red Dodge Charger sought by Charleston police for failing to stop for a police cruiser in West Ashley.

Pursued into Berkeley County, the car reportedly went around a building at Red Bank and Cranford roads was exiting back out onto the road when it struck the patrol car.

Charges for Tewonna Sallie, 28, are expected to include failure to stop for blue lights, driving under suspension fourth offense and having expired license plates.

Both deputies were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
