Charleston Designer's Obama T-Shirt Now For Sale

Work of local winner available at campaign's online shop.

Beyonce, Marc Jacobs, Sean John — pop culture and fashion icons who have contributed their designs to Obama 2012 campaign T-shirts and accessories.

You can add Laurel Stender to that list. The North Charleston graphic designer won an online contest last month to . The shirts are now available at the Obama campaign's shop. 

Stender was on the ground for Obama in 2008, volunteering at a campaign office and working at the polls on Election Day.

"When I got the initial email about the details of the contest, I thought it would be a great, creative way for me to lend my talents in support of his re-election campaign," Stender tells Patch.

"I wanted to create a design that showed a coming together, much like a patchwork, of different ideas all for a common unity," she said.
