Continental Terminals Site Providing New Port Opportunities.

Goose Creek is getting a shot of espresso.
Continental Terminals, a warehouse provider for several coffee companies, is relocating from warehouse space in Summerville to a site off Henry Brown Jr. Boulevard.
The move to the warehouse at 201 Luken Road should be completed by Aug. 1. The space includes more than 100,000 square feet on 15 acres.

Continental has operations in the Northeast, Virginia and the Lowcountry, providing storage space for coffee, cocoa and other products. "That space will probably be 100 percent coffee," says local General Manager Mickey Baldwin of the Goose Creek facility.
The company opened its Jedburg site in July 2008 to provide storage for Starbucks’ St. Matthews plant. The contract with the popular coffee shop expired, but the shift will mean more space for other coffee companies.

"It's new businesses for the port and for Charleston and for Goose Creek," Baldwin said.
The warehouse will offer a key location between the port terminals where the coffee will come in and the interstate that will be trucking the product throughout the Southeast.
The local site has 18 employees, but hopes to expand.
