Coroner: Second Missing Woman Shot to Death

Body identified as 22-year-old June Guerry.

The search for a second young woman missing since Sunday has ended in the tragic revelation that she, too, was shot to death.

The body found late Wednesday in the Alvin area has been identfied as 22-year-old June Guerry, according to Berkeley County Coroner Bill Salisbury.

Her death has been labelled a homicide, with the cause of death being gunshot wounds. Salisbury would not say how many times she was shot or where, due to the ongoing investigation.

Guerry was last seen late Sunday night in Moncks Corner, driving off with 18-year-old Dana Marie Woods in a 2000 White Chevy Metro. The car was discovered Tuesday, burnt, in the Francis Marion National Forest near Cordesville.

In processing the car, investigators found Woods' body less than 100 yards away from the vehicle. She was by gunshot wounds.
