Couple Charged With Neglect in 8-year-old's Death

A Goose Creek couple is now facing charges of unlawful neglect of a child related to the September case of an 8-year-old girl's asthma-related death, according to a report from Live 5 News.

Harmony Lee Mcamis and Joshua Richard Mashburn were arrested in February following a months-long investigation into the death. They are currently being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center, each with a $50,000 bond.

They say McAmis didn't give the child medication, a mask or a rescue inhaler when the child told her mother she was having difficulty breathing. Investigators say the couple found the girl blue and unresponsive and never performed CPR or called EMS.
