Courtesy Boat Inspections This Weekend

DNR hosting checks at several Lowcountry spots, including Dennis Landing.

The state's Department of Natural Resources is providing courtesy safety inspections this weekend and several public boat landings.

Officers will do a quick once-over of the boat and check registration. No violations will be ticketed, but boaters will be expected to resolve any issues before they get in the water.

Inspections will be available from 10 a.m. until noon. Local landings include Dennis Landing and the Wappoo Landing on Saturday, July 2, and the Shem Creek Landing and Jenssen Landing on Sunday, July 3.
