Cypress Gardens Hosting Two Holiday Events
Santa Claus and Charles Dickens will each make a return to the swamp this season.

Release, Berkeley County Government:
The holiday season has become a time of hustle and bustle. Cypress Gardens offers a break from the rush with two unique and exciting events which are becoming a family tradition for many across the Lowcountry.
First, on Saturday, December 1st, bring the entire family to “Santa in the Swamp." At 11:00 a.m., Santa Claus will arrive by boat on the blackwater swamp. He will visit with kids and take photos with children and pets. Enjoy live holiday music, vendors with handcrafted gifts, crafts and activities for the kids, and all of the attractions Cypress Gardens has to offer. Children 12 and under are admitted free.

Then, on Sunday, December 9th from 4-8 p.m., “A Christmas Tea with Mr. Dickens” features storyteller Tim Lowry performing the ghostly tale of A Christmas Carol. Lowry’s authentic Dickens style rendition includes costumes, voices and 19th century dancing and parlor games. An elegant Christmas tea featuring Dickens’ era delicacies and Christmas cheer by the Art and Soul Players and Lowcountry Power Brass Band will even put Scrooge in a holiday mood! The evening will conclude with a torch lit boat ride on the blackwater cypress swamp. Reservations are required for this special engagement. Tickets are $35 per person and must be purchased in advance by calling 843-553-0515.
“We’re pleased to see that all of our holiday events are becoming so popular with people across the Lowcountry and beyond,” says Dwight Williams, Director of Cypress Gardens. “It indicates that people are receptive to the unique experiences our events offer – experiences which cannot be duplicated anywhere else.”
