Dead USC Student From Mt. Pleasant
Autopsy results not yet available, SLED investigating.

Richland County Coroner Gary Watts has released the name of the University of South Carolina student who died on campus over the weekend.
Watts tells Patch that Daniel G. Osterkamp of Mount Pleasant was found at around 11:30 a.m. Saturday. The coroner reports that Osterkamp is 22, but the obituary notes that he is 20.
An autopsy conducted on Sunday is still pending, awaiting final results of a toxicology testing, according to WCIV, and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is investigating the death.

According to his obituary, Osterkamp was a musician studying classical guitar and "had a great love of music and songwriting."
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday at East Cooper Baptist Church.

The family has asked that memorials be made in Daniel's memory to the East Cooper Baptist Church's music program or youth ministry or the Palmetto Christian Academy, both at 361 Egypt Road, Mount Pleasant.
