Deputies Searching For Man Facing 13 Chrages

Man fled on foot after April 26 car chase.

Release, Berkeley County Sheriff's Office:

On April 26, agents with the Berkeley County Drug Enforcement Unit attempted a traffic stop on a Honda sedan traveling at a high rate of speed and crossing a double yellow line on Highway 311 in the Cross area of the county. The driver pulled the car onto a dirt road, stopped the vehicle in the backyard of a residence, jumped out and fled on foot, leaving the passenger and his 3-year-old, unrestrained child behind.

The passenger, Tremaine Jerome White, 26, who was still in the car along with the young child, was taken into custody and charged with trafficking cocaine and cocaine base (crack) and simple possession of marijuana.

The driver, Jonathan Latrelle Jamison, 27, is being sought by sheriff’s deputies on 13 charges including child endangerment, child restraint violation, felon in possession of a weapon during violent crime, driving under suspension, evading arrest, trafficking cocaine base and trafficking cocaine, failure to stop for a blue light and several others. 

The child was taken into custody by the Department of Social Services.
