Details Released in Berkeley County Shooting
Altercation in the "41" area, victim found in Moncks Corner.

The Berkeley County Sheriff's Office released new details late Wednesday afternoon in the shooting of a man near Moncks Corner.
According to spokesman Dan Moon, deputies responded to a 911 call at 12:30 p.m. regarding a man with a gunshot wound found in a car on Belt Drive in Moncks Corner. The road happens to run alongside the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office.
The man was seriously wounded. He was transported to an unnamed area hospital.

According to Moon, the investigation suggests the man met another individual in the "41" section of the county, between Bonneau and St. Stephen for an alleged drug transaction.

"The two men got into an altercation," Moon said in a statement. "The victim got in his car and fled toward Moncks Corner."
The suspected shooter chased after the victim in a second car, allegedly shooting into the victim's car when he got close enough. The bullet struck the victim, according to Moon.
A friend of the victim drove the car to where it was located on Belt Drive just off of North Live Oak Drive.
Investigators have suspects, but no arrests have been made, said Moon.
