A few headlines this morning are focusing on Goose Creek's defense.

There are two numbers for every final score. There's that big number the Gators get from its strong offense, but that little number beside it is due to the hard work from the defensive line.

That's where Mike Myers comes in. He has been playing strong this year and universities have been calling for this senior. Writing at Bonesville, Sammy Batten talks with Goose Creek coach Chuck Reedy about Myers' offer from East Carolina.

"If he was 6-2 or 6-3 he'd be recruited by everyone in the country,'' Reedy told Batten. "East Carolina has gotten themselves a jewel. They stole one in him.'' Read more of the Bonesville report.

Also in the news today: Omar McRae's hard work didn't go unnoticed in last week's game against Wando. The Gators maintained their undefeated season and gave Wando its first loss this year. This morning, The Post and Courier announced that McRae was the defensive player of the week.
