Election Day Tuesday in North Charleston, Moncks Corner

Our neighbors head to the polls Tuesday.

Goose Creek and Hanahan residents don't have to worry about voting today, but you're likely very aware that most of our neighbors are heading to the polls.

On the ballot in Moncks Corner, Mayor William Peagler is running unopposed for another term. Four candidates are vying for three seats on the council: Charlotte Cruppenink, David Dennis Jr., Michael Locklier and Laura Perdue. Charles Staley is running unopposed for a possition on the city's water commission.

Voters in North Charleston will vote between Mayor Keith Summey and challenger Chris Collins, a Charleston County School Board member. There are 22 candidates for 10 council seats. North Charleston is divided into districts. A list of North Charleston candidates is available from the city.

Goose Creek voters won't head to the polls until April 2012, when four seats on the council will be up for a vote. Hanahan's next election will be in November 2012, with three City Council seats on the ballot.
