Cypress Gardens is celebrating its famed blackwater swamp with this event, giving visitors a chance to explore in a vintage swamp boat, along with programs from:
- Merle Shepard and Edward Farnworth – authors of, Common Insects and Spiders of the South Carolina Lowcountry
- Steve Bennett, Herpetologist, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources
- Charleston Turtle and Tortoise Society
- Keeper of the Wild - wildlife rehabilitators
There will also be live music from Charleston Hot Shots, a special visit from Blackwater Willy and the weighing of Frankenturtle, Cypress Gardens’ giant snapping turtle, is weighed.
The Summer Swamp Safari is free with regular paid admission to Cypress Gardens ($10.00 adult, $9.00 Senior, $5.00 child 6 to 12 years of age).

Berkeley County residents and Berkeley County Government employees will be admitted free from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon with a photo ID.
