Fate of Carolina Nurseries Site on County Council Agenda

Berkeley County Council and its various committees will meet on Monday, beginning at 6 p.m. in the assembly room at 1003 Highway 52, Moncks Corner.
The council will take a first vote on rezoning of 28 acres of the Carolina Nurseries property for heavy industrial use. The 574-acre property was sold in October 2010.
The council will consider fee-in-lieu of tax deals for MWV-OMNI and "Project Novel," as well as a vote on MeadWestvaco development planes off 17-A.

There are also two rezoning requests in the Goose Creek area: a property owner at 1339 Red Bank Road is requesting his commercial property be rezoned single family residential.Â
And property owners at 331 Myers Road are requesting a manufactured residential zoning instead of the existing planned mixed use zoning.
