Felony DUI Charges After Firefighters Hit By Car

A woman accused of hitting two firefighters while they were working an accident scene is now facing felony DUI charges, according to Live 5 News.

Jessica Lanier, 25, of Goose Creek, was charged with driving under the influence after the October incident, when .

Christopher Harrison, 31, and Capt. Michael Althoff, 45, were wearing reflective gear as they were crossing St. James Avenue the lanes of traffic to reach a patrol car when they were struck. The two were treated and released at Trident Medical Center.

According to the Code of Laws, a felony DUI conviction in South Carolina carries a minimum penalty of $5,100 and a 30-day prison sentence.
