Five Things: Annexation, Elections, and a Fundrasier
Mark your calendar, because we're keeping you busy with five things to look out for.

Here are five things on our radar this week:
1. Redistricting. The state Senate will have a public hearing today on for South Carolina's U.S. House districts. A seventh district will be created along the coast. A map approved by the state House would put the center the new district in Horry County. Senate plans would create a new Lowcountry district that could provide more influence for Berkeley and Dorchester counties.
2. Annexation. Some voters along Red Bank Road will go to the polls on Tuesday to consider an . There are just a handful of residences included. The area could be a new commercial corridor for the municipality. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Goose Creek High School.
3. Special Election. Filing remains open in the race to fill the open House District 100 seat. Party leaders told us last week they don’t know who will be running for the seat. Deadline to file is June 27.
4. Fundraisers. TJ’s Beef & Brew and JK Harris wrapped up a fundraiser on Friday to support the American Red Cross. This Saturday, Sapphires takes a turn, putting on an event, with fund going toward tornado relief efforts.
