Flood Advisory For Goose Creek Communities

The National Weather Service has issued a flood advisory for minor flooding in the Goose Creek area until 7 p.m.

Areas included in the advisory include Goose Creek, Charleston Southern University, Crowfield Plantation, Mount Holly, and more.

According to the NWS, heavy rain appeared stationary over the area, with estimated of 2.5 to 3 inches of rain within the last few hours. Up to an additional inch is possible.

Motorists are encouraged to use extra caution, watching for water on the roadways and minor flooding possible in low-lying areas. The should also slow down to avoid hydroplaning. If the road is flooded, it is best to turn around.
